The Clinical Education Coordinator/EMS Instructor supports operations, instructional quality, and clinical standards at the AmeriPro Health EMS Training Academy in Louisville, Kentucky. The role combines teaching and coordination, overseeing clinical, lab, and field training. They ensure students meet state, national, and organizational standards, promote patient safety and professionalism, and serve as a liaison between students, staff, and partners to help develop a skilled EMS workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling, onboarding, and placement for all clinical, lab, and field internships
  • Serve as the primary liaison between students, faculty, and clinical/field partners
  • Ensure compliance with onboarding requirements (immunizations, background checks, credentialing, etc.)
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate clinical and field education components to meet state and national standards
  • Teach assigned didactic, lab, and psychomotor content
  • Evaluate student performance through testing, observation, and field feedback
  • Monitor student progress and support coaching, remediation, and performance improvement

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in classroom, office, laboratory, hospital, and field environments
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, and move between instructional and clinical spaces
  • Ability to lift and carry training equipment and supplies, generally up to twenty-five pounds
  • Ability to operate computers, simulation tools, audiovisual systems, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to function effectively in a deadline driven and high accountability environment
  • Must be physically capable of performing the essential duties of an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic in the field, including lifting, moving, carrying, bending, kneeling, climbing, and safely assisting with patient movement and transport in varied environments.
  • Must be able to tolerate the physical and environmental demands of field response, including extended standing and walking, exposure to inclement weather, confined spaces, and the performance of direct patient care during high stress and time sensitive situations.

Required:

  • Current certification as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or higher
  • Current Kentucky certification as an AEMT or higher, or eligibility for reciprocity in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
  • Current instructor certification recognized in Kentucky or the ability to obtain
  • Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
  • Minimum of two years of direct field experience in prehospital care
  • Minimum of one year of instructional, field training, preceptor, or classroom teaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, evaluate, and develop learners in classroom, laboratory, clinical, and field settings

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency medical services, education, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field
  • Current KY Paramedic certification
  • Current National Registry certification
  • Instructor credentials in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Experience in EMS academy operations, workforce development, or higher education
  • Experience with simulation-based training, curriculum development, and competency-based education
  • Experience supporting National Registry preparation and EMS program compliance activities

 

Certification & Licensure Requirements

  • Current certification as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or higher
  • Current Kentucky certification as an AEMT or higher, or eligibility for reciprocity in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
  • Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
